The registration form is for performers and stage crew.
With its poignant story and catchy Caribbean-flavored score, Once on This Island Jr. is a highly original theatrical adaptation of The Little Mermaid.
Through almost non-stop song and dance, this full-hearted musical tells the story of Ti Moune, a peasant girl who rescues and falls in love with Daniel, a wealthy boy from the other side of her island. When Daniel is returned to his people, the fantastical gods who rule the island, guide Ti Moune on a quest that will test the strength of her love.
Congratulations to the cast of Once On This Island Jr. It was very hard to decide on the final cast list because all of you were so fantastic at the auditions. We are so proud of all of you and we can't wait to begin rehearsing this wonderful production with such an incredibly talented cast.
All cast members will be in all performances. When a student is not performing as their lead role, they will be in the ensemble.

*The parks are still not available to rent. We will use the park unless someone tells us we can't be there and then we will walk to the studio to continue rehearsal there. We will notify parents with an email if we move to the studio.
1.) Students MUST attend all rehearsals! If the student has 4 unexcused absences they will be dismissed from the program and will not be permitted to be in the show. An unexcused absence is any absence that was not marked as a conflict on your audition form.
2.) The tech rehearsals are MANDATORY and there will not be any absences allowed.
3.) Students are expected to be on their best behavior at rehearsals and performances, and must treat all staff and other students with respect. Failure to do so will result in their removal from this production.
4.) Every person involved in the musical is a vital part of the show. It is imperative that they be at all rehearsals and follow through with their commitment to the show. Therefore, we implore the parents to not use the musical as a tool for punishment.
5.) These rules and regulations are very basic, and although we do not foresee any problems, we want to make sure everyone is on the same page. If a student is dismissed from the program due to excessive absences or behavior problems, a refund will not be given. We want to make sure the musical is a very positive experience for all students involved in the production. Together we can make this show great.

I will be providing all costumes but if you prefer to wear your own clothes, here is a description for each character.
Shoes
Everyone will need to provide their own shoes. You can wear sandals as long as they strap on and you will be able to dance in them. Or you can wear jazz dance shoes. Nude colored is preferred. No bare feet please.
Boys: Khaki, Denim or Black Pants or Shorts; Hawaiian Shirt
Girls: Tropical Beach Sarong (Please wear a 1-piece bathing suit or leotard underneath. You are welcome to wear bike shorts or leggings underneath also. Try to find something that will match your sarong if it will be visible.)
Ti Moune: Red Dress
Little Ti Moune: Red Dress
Papa Ge: All black/dark colors. I have a jacket or cape that you can wear and a skeleton shirt. Please provide your own pants.
Asaka: Dress that portrays nature (Green or Floral). I have a few dresses you can try and some leafy accessories.
Agwe: Shades of blue. I have blue flowy pants and a top you can wear. The top may show some of your tummy so a blue or nude colored leotard would be best to wear underneath.
Erzulie: Dress that is pink and red tones. I have 2 dresses that you can try.
Feel free to experiment with different ways to wear your sarong. These are just 2 examples.
