Mini-Melodies

Mondays 4:15-5:00pm (45-minute class)

Ages 4-6

$17 per class, paid monthly

Class begins Oct. 7th


Mini Melodies is a singing class for young children. In this class children will learn proper vocal technique while singing fun songs appropriate for the growing voice. Children will also learn performance skills which will help them to show development in confidence, communication and collaboration. In addition to singing the class also includes fun music games that will teach musical terminology and beginning music theory to prepare students to advance to private singing lessons. The Mini Melodies class has the opportunity to perform at the showcase performances.

Storytelling Movement

Mondays 5:00-5:45pm (45-minute class)

Ages 5-7

$17 per class, paid monthly

Class begins Oct. 7th


The Storytelling Movement Class is a class where children learn to express emotions and how to tell a story through body movement and facial expressions while exploring basic acting skills. This is a stepping stone to more advance acting classes. This class will also include acting and improv games to help these young actors build confidence, courage and creativity. The Storytelling Movement class had the opportunity to perform at the showcase performance.

Improv for Special Needs

Mondays 5:45-6:30pm (45-minute class)

Ages 6-10

$17 per class, paid monthly

Class begins Oct. 7th


The Improv for Special Needs class will focus on having fun, improving social skills, increasing self-awareness, increasing self-expression, and gaining confidence through improv acting techniques and games. A low teacher/student ratio will ensure that each student gets the attention they need. Students on the spectrum will have the opportunity to explore a variety of emotions, listening skills, social skills and pragmatic language while building relationships with peers through play. These skills are taught through various games and improvised scenarios that help individuals explore together and laugh with each other.

Songwriting

Tuesdays 4:30-5:30pm

Ages 12 & up

$20 per class, paid monthly

Class begins Oct. 8th


The Songwriting class incorporates writing melodies and lyrics to create hit songs. Students do not need to play an instrument but if they do, they can bring their instrument if they would like. Students will learn about song structures, chord progressions and what makes a song memorable. Each student will collaborating with others to create hit songs in various genres. The Songwriting class has the opportunity to perform at the showcase performances.

Star Bright - Performance Crew

Tuesdays 6:30-8:00pm

Ages 10 & Up (By Audition Only)

$100 flat fee per semester

Star Bright will perform in 2-part and 3-part harmony. Singers will learn proper vocal technique, how to harmonize and blend their voices with other singers, beginning music theory and have fun in the process! It is advised for Star Bright performers to continue education with private lessons. Star Bright performs with simple choreography and solo opportunities are available.

AUDITIONS

Accepting auditions by appointment from October. 1st through 7th.

Prepare a 1 minute solo to sing a capella and be prepared to sing scales at the audition.


Classes for next semester will begin Oct. 8th and will go through Dec. 11th with potential performances through Dec. 22nd

Creative Movement

Wednesdays 3:30-4:15pm (45-minute class)

Ages 4-6

In the Creative Movement class the creativity never stops as stories and props are used to elicit movement. Focused on furthering the development of locomotor skills (skipping, leaping, jumping, etc.), and introducing dance-based fundamentals, this class is perfect for the young mover. Students are introduced to dance elements such as level, direction, and shape; and practice self-control as they follow directions, take turns, and practice following along and leading others.  The Creative Movement class has the opportunity to perform at the showcase performances.

Improv for Kids

Wednesdays 4:15-5:15pm

Ages 5-7

In the Improv for Kids class not only will your children learn improv, they’ll grow with age appropriate improv games and activities. They will learn the rules of improv, performance techniques, and short-form improv games in a fun, supportive environment. Improv gives kids an early start at developing a sharp mind and a quick wit for developing characters all while allowing them to have a blast. The Improv for Kids class class has the opportunity to perform at the showcase performances.

Page To Stage - Acting Class

Wednesdays 5:30-6:30pm

Ages 8-12

$20 per class, paid monthly

Class begins Oct. 9th


The Page To Stage class teaches kids to explore characters and understand the meaning of the scripts. Students in this class will learn to analyze scripts and perform them all while creating memorable characters and having fun. This class also includes improv games to help teach the kids how to think quickly and develop characters while listening and reacting to the situations brought on by the other actors in the class. The Page To Stage class has the opportunity to perform at the showcase performances.

Play Writing

The Play Writing class is designed to teach kids and teens how to create a memorable and meaningful story with complex characters and how to perform the play with truthful and sincere acting. Students will play improv games to develop creativity and they will work together to write a full play where each student has a role in the show. After writing the play the students will work on acting techniques to make their play come to life. The play written by the class will be performed at the showcase performance.

Rhythm Fitness for Kids

Thursdays 3:30-4:30pm

Ages 5-8

The Rhythm Fitness for Kids class is a fun way for kids to release some energy while learning to play rhythms in various ways. Kids will exercise using yoga and pilates techniques while playing rhythms with drum sticks or using body percussion. They will learn routines to fun, kid friendly, pop songs including movement and rhythm. The Rhythm Fitness class has the opportunity to perform at the showcase performances.

Comedy Improv

Thursdays 4:30-5:30pm

Ages 10-16

$20 per class, paid monthly

In this class students will experience the power of play, and the fun of improvisational comedy in a fun and safe environment. Students will be introduced to the the basic tools, rules, and philosophy of improvisation and comedic timing through the use of drills, exercises, games and simple scenes. This class is for students that are new to improv or who would like to continue to grow and explore their inner comedian. The Comedy Improv class has the opportunity to perform at the showcase performances.

Musical Theater Audition Prep

Fridays 4:00-5:00pm

The Musical Theater Audition Prep class is designed to help students learn to prepare for the vocal portion of a musical theater audition. Student will learn to prepare an audition cut for an accompanist, how to find songs that are best suited for their voice and how to perform them well for auditions. The class will also teach students about the audition process and what to expect when going to an audition. The Musical Theater Audition Prep class has the opportunity to perform at the showcase performances.

Session Singing

Fridays 5:00-6:00pm

Class begins Oct. 11th


The Session Singing class is meant for singers with previous singing experience. Session singers are performers who make a living by recording vocals for music in the recording studio. This class will focus on sight reading (learning to read sheet music) and how to sing various music styles to prepare student to be confident when in a recording session. The students in this class will be recorded and the recordings will be played at the showcase performances.

Acting on Camera I

Saturdays 9:00-10:00am

Ages 8-12

$20 per class, paid monthly

In the Acting on Camera classes students will learn auditioning techniques and practice in front of the camera with sides from commercials, movies and TV shows of all genres. Playback is watched and students learn to create characters with unique and bold choices. This class aims to exercise an ease working in front of the camera and the confidence to perform and to shine in every audition. The students in this class will be filmed and the edited videos will be played at the showcase performances.


(The only difference in the Acting On Camera I and II is the age range of the students. The scripts for each class will be chosen based on the age of the students enrolled.)

Dance for Musical Theater

The Dance for Musical Theater class is designed for students with little or no dance experience. This class will help teach students different dance styles typically used in musical theater productions. This is a great starting point for kids who love theater and want to perform in kids theater productions but need more dance experience to feel more comfortable and confident on stage. The Dance for Musical Theater class has the opportunity to perform at the showcase performances.

Dance Audition Techniques

Sundays 10:00-11:00am

Ages 10+

Class begins Oct. 27th


The Dance Auditions Techniques class is designed for dancers of all skill levels. In this class students will work on strength and technique as well as learn different styles of dance. The students will learn how the dance audition process works by learning a short dance routine each week, as if they were at a real audition. The Dance Audition Techniques class has the opportunity to perform at the showcase performances.
 

Musical Theater Productions

Seussical (A Mini Musical)

Tuesdays & Thursdays 5:30-6:30pm*

Ages 7 to 12 years

$295 flat fee per semester

Class begins Nov. 18th

Performances Feb. 22nd & 23rd


This session the Musical Theater class will perform a mini version of Seussical The Musical. Mini musicals are approximately 20-minutes long and incorporate many songs from the original Broadway show. Each student will be cast in a roll in the show and will perform in both performances. Come sing, dance and act with us in this wonderfully wacky show!


*An additional tech rehearsal will be added to the schedule.

Teen Musical

Auditions for our teen musical coming soon. 


Rehearsals will be held on Mondays and Wednesdays from 6:30-8:00pm and Saturdays from 12:00-3:00pm. Performance dates to be determined.
